bbcwrun6.exe seen as threat by virusscanner
Post by Hans on Jan 13th, 2015, 1:50pm

Since an hour Norton sees bbcwrun6.exe as a threat. When running a program Norton kills LBBooster. Very annoying. I haven't figured out yet how to force Norton to see bbcwrun6.exe as save.

Here is the Virus Total report for bbcwrun6.exe, as of 1st January. It was reported clean by all 56 scanners.

Have you told Norton? They are usually quick to correct false positives:

Edit: Make sure you're running v2.82 of LBB, not v2.80, because the version of bbcwrun6.exe to which the Virus Total report applies may not be the same as came with v2.80.

I don't use Norton, but as far as I know all virus scanners have a way of 'whitelisting' files.

Richard.

Richard,
for whitelisting or reporting false positives I need at least the location of the file. I can't find it. I presume because it is created temporaly by LBB. Can you tell what that location is?

BTW Norton finds bbcwrun6 not allways suspicious, only under circumstances I don't understand.

It goes into your Temporary Folder (most easily found using the environment variable %TEMP% in Windows Explorer or at a Command Prompt).

Thanks Richard,
the problem is solved by adding bbcwrun6.exe to the whitelist.
