Texture-mapped sphere
Post by Richard Russell on Apr 14th, 2015, 4:51pm

Somebody at the LB Community Forum has been asking about how to make a texture-mapped 3D sphere. I think he prefers an OpenGL solution, which I'm not skilled enough to code, but here's a re-post of the Direct 3D version I did some while ago (it runs in both LB and LBB):

Executable: just click and run (compiled using LBB)

ZIP file containing BASIC program and support files

User Image

Somebody may wish to post a link to this thread on the LB Forum, at their own risk!

Richard.

Richard,

Thank you very much for the example. In fact it was more than example it was a piece of fine art.
You was did another piece of art, or another example on the level of fine art.
It was the slide rule on BBC.
I talk to friends about it they impressed they see nothing, only the idea of making a slide rule on modern PC was impressed them very much.
Thanks to you Richard,
Thanks very much.

Credit where credit is due: that was a translation of Anatoly's LB/LBB program.

Richard.

Really !
I always signed Anatoly as a person who has a special way of thinking, or I can say he using his mind in a special way of smartness. Since I saw his example of using graphic box and a fixed size font to build a tree knots.
Richard, if you could post me a link to Anatoly's LB LBB example of slide rule, as I never see his example.
Thanks to you, and Anatoly.
