Special: A game for you
Post by JosephE on Mar 24th, 2014, 04:37am

I made this atmospheric game over spring break two weeks ago, I just hadn't had a chance to upload it until now. This game doesn't work in Liberty BASIC, just LBB.

You can download it here (including source): http://www.mediafire.com/download/1nap41cjr8cjz3m/Special_-_Source.zip

It's beautiful, thank you. Perhaps it might be of interest to other forum members to explain what features of LBB you have used which makes it incompatible with LB.

Richard.

It's theoretically compatible with LB, but for some reason it doesn't work in LB. I was never worried about being compatible with LB anyways, because it's so buggy and glitchy. I did all my development with LBB and LBW. I actually made it for this girl I like, and it went over well, to say the least.

The sprites in LB don't actually work as well as they do in LBB...so even when I got to compile in LB it just glitched out horribly and crashed fairly quickly.

It's handy to have a single EXE for web deployment: anybody with a Windows PC can run your program (at least when using IE) simply by clicking on this link:

Thank you! I thought about doing that, but I just didn't get around to experimenting with it.

Sounds like a marketing opportunity for me - 'use LBB and get your girl' grin
