xx Installing 3.08
« Thread started on: Jun 27th, 2017, 3:56pm »

I must have installed LBB3.08 incorrectly.
Each time I click on the desktop icon LBB.3.08.exe three related icons are created on my desktop: LBB.BMP, lbb.chm and lb45func.bas.

Also, while 3.08 seems to mostly run correctly, some code can completely cover my monitor screen, and I have to press CTL-ALT-DEL to get back to LBB; for example, your code in the message about "Setting fonts attributes for StaticText in Win"

That's to be expected if you put an EXE on your desktop, but you should never do that other than temporarily (apart from the kind of issue you describe, it can also cause problems with Windows' automatic backup of the desktop to the cloud or when 'roaming').

Everything will be fine if you install LBB conventionally (for example to C:\Program Files (x86)\LB Booster\) and then put a shortcut to it on the desktop. If you have been in the habit of putting EXE files on your desktop it would be a good idea to move them elsewhere.

Naturally full-screen programs 'completely cover your monitor screen' - that's the whole point! I'm sure you wouldn't expect LBB to somehow block such programs, any more than LB 4 would.

But using Ctrl+Alt+Del to get back to LBB seems overkill. Alt+F4 will almost always close the window, or you can use Alt+Tab to bring the LBB window to the front. In any case any competently written full-screen program will provide a means of quitting, in the case of the programs recently posted by 'flotulopex' it's clicking in the extreme top-left corner.

I dragged the .exe to the desktop instead of dragging the shortcut.

I don't think I've ever used a borderless graphics window before, but I should have remembered Alt-F4

I need to get more sleep.
